Anthropic is seeking an AV Engineer based in its New York City office to design and implement audiovisual systems that support collaboration and communication across its global offices. The role will architect scalable AV solutions for conference rooms, event spaces, collaboration areas, and company-wide broadcasts, supporting both small team meetings and large-scale events with thousands of remote participants.
Responsibilities
- Lead AV design, procurement, and programming for new office builds, expansions, and retrofits across the global portfolio.
- Create and maintain AV system designs, including schematic drawings, line diagrams, and elevation plans.
- Program and commission AV systems based on specific use cases and user requirements.
- Execute first-day-of-business deployments for new offices.
- Attend build coordination meetings with architects, contractors, and workplace teams to manage AV requirements and integration.
- Evaluate and test emerging AV technologies.
- Develop automated solutions to improve system reliability and reduce operational overhead.
- Partner with Security and IT teams to ensure AV systems meet enterprise security requirements.
- Create documentation covering programming logic, troubleshooting guides, and operational procedures.
- Oversee global AV operations and service delivery standards.
- Manage AV integrator and vendor relationships.
- Provide AV operations support, including event production and system maintenance.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience designing and implementing AV systems in an enterprise environment.
- Proficiency in control system programming using the Q-Sys ecosystem or a similar platform.
- Hands-on experience with video conferencing platforms, particularly Google Meet.
- Ability to read and create AV technical drawings, including schematics, line diagrams, and rack elevations.
- Understanding of digital signal processing concepts for audio, including acoustic echo cancellation, noise reduction, EQ/dynamics, and automixing.
- Familiarity with enterprise video distribution, streaming technologies, and broadcast standards.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting aggressive timelines.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to translate non-technical stakeholder requirements into technical solutions.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and comfort working with complex integrated systems.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Up to 8 weeks of domestic and international travel may be required annually for office buildouts.
Strong candidates may also have experience with the Logitech video conferencing ecosystem and management platforms; Q-Sys Level 2, CTS, or CTS-D certifications; Lua control scripts within Q-Sys; broadcast production or live event engineering; Netgear network switches and AV-over-IP systems such as QLAN, Dante, or SMPTE 2110; digital signage platforms such as Appspace; acoustical design principles; large-scale office technology deployments; AV installations; high-growth technology companies; and Google Workspace administration.
