Capacity Deployment Lead - Data Center Operations

As a Capacity Deployment Lead within Anthropic's Data Center Operations organization, you will support and scale the deployment of new compute capacity across a growing fleet of partner-operated data centers. Deployment runs from construction kickoff to ready for service (RFS), including infrastructure delivery and receiving, integration QA, power-on and network turn-up, burn-in and validation, acceptance, and handover into production operations and the maintenance program. The scope includes accelerator systems, racks, and supporting infrastructure.

This is a program and execution role working with the Global Capacity Delivery Program Lead and the broader Data Center Operations organization. The role requires 50% or more travel, including on-site work during delivery, deployment, QA, and close-out activities.

Responsibilities

• Own deployment outcomes for assigned sites and data-hall waves, including capacity units and ready-for-service dates.
• Engage from construction kickoff and confirm deployment readiness, including floor access, power, network, receiving paths, and partner staffing.
• Work on site during delivery, deployment, QA, and close-out, verifying work directly and supporting on-site teams.
• Partner with site leadership through rack delivery and receiving, integration QA, power-on and network turn-up, burn-in, and validation.
• Set daily priorities and quality gates, confirming results against Anthropic-owned ticket and telemetry data.
• Validate handover criteria for each capacity unit and data hall, including acceptance criteria, burn-in, documentation, spares, live ticketing, and handover into production operations.
• Convert deployment best practices and lessons learned into procedures, checklists, acceptance standards, and metrics.
• Extend the deployment program to new sites and platforms, adapting standards as hardware changes.
• Communicate deployment status, dependencies, constraints, and risks to engineering, capacity planning, site-schedule owners, and leadership.

Requirements

• 8 or more years of experience in data center operations or hardware deployment as a manager, technical lead, or related role, with accountability for delivery milestones.
• Proven experience leading large-scale compute or network hardware deployments across multiple sites or data-hall waves, from floor access through ready for service.
• Experience managing vendors, OEMs, or contract workforces against milestones, quality gates, operational reviews, and corrective actions.
• Hands-on technical depth in server, network, and rack-level hardware sufficient to verify deployment quality and audit vendor claims.
• Experience building or substantially improving operational processes.
• Ability to use schedule, ticket, and telemetry data to drive decisions.
• Willingness to travel heavily and work on site for extended periods, including during delivery surges and turn-up windows. Travel is expected to be 50%.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with GPU or accelerator infrastructure and high-density liquid-cooled infrastructure, including liquid-cooled rack bring-up.
• Experience standing up operations at a new site or data hall, from commissioning handoff through first deployment.
• Experience deploying multiple accelerator platforms or introducing a new hardware platform into an existing deployment program.
• Experience delivering deployment outcomes in partner-operated or colocation sites staffed by third parties.
• Familiarity with dense accelerator network cabling, optics, and high-speed interconnects at rack and pod scale.
