Details

Bloomberg's Data team delivers data, news, and analytics through innovative technology. The team supports Bloomberg Industry Group's legal, government, and tax products, including tools for legal content, analysis, practice support, company information, and market intelligence.

As a member of the Data Enrichment team, you will serve as a legal subject-matter authority for BCITE and Precedent Search products. You will help ensure that caselaw and transactional data meet quality standards, provide accurate analytics, and collaborate with engineering and machine learning experts to explore new technologies and improve the product.

Responsibilities

Analyze caselaw, agency, and transactional documents and act as a legal subject-matter guide for internal technical solutions.
Manage vendor teams to ensure quality performance and consistency with service-level agreements.
Collaborate with legal data analysts, Engineering, and Bloomberg Industry Group staff to develop solutions to technical challenges.
Identify opportunities to improve workflow and process efficiency and create business impact.
Collaborate with partners to gather requirements, define scope, and develop project plans.

Requirements

Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
Passed a state bar examination and admission to the bar.
Familiarity with online legal research tools; experience with the BLAW product is a plus.
Strong analytical, written, and presentation skills.
Willingness to travel internationally.

Preferred Qualifications

One to three years of professional experience with a demonstrated interest in legal research, analysis, and creative problem-solving.
Judicial clerkship experience.
Interest in developing technology knowledge and skills, including learning data analysis tools such as Excel and Python.
Interest in exploring the use of generative AI for productivity, problem-solving, and innovation.
Experience with process reengineering or improving and enhancing existing processes.

Benefits

The salary range is $90,000-$110,000 USD annually, plus benefits and bonus.
