Details

Anthropic is building a Forward Deployed Engineering team to help ambitious organizations adopt Claude through transformative, safe, and lasting AI solutions. Technical Deployment Leads own customer engagements end-to-end, while Forward Deployed Engineers own the technical artifacts and production applications.

As Manager of Technical Deployment for Financial Services, you will own engagement portfolio health, set delivery-quality standards, build scalable playbooks and evaluation frameworks, and influence Anthropic’s product direction. This is a player-coach role requiring credibility in architecture discussions with engineering leaders, executive-level customer presence, and the ability to lead complex engagements directly. You will not write production code, but you will pressure-test the technical decisions made by Technical Deployment Leads and Forward Deployed Engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, develop, and retain a team of Technical Deployment Leads supporting Financial Services engagements.
  • Set standards for delivery judgment, technical fluency, and customer presence.
  • Directly manage each Technical Deployment Lead through regular 1:1s, clear expectations, feedback, and growth plans.
  • Own portfolio health, identify engagements that are on track or at risk, intervene when delivery drifts, and run engagement quality reviews.
  • Own customer outcomes, maintain executive relationships, run steering committees, and represent Anthropic with senior business, risk, and engineering leaders.
  • Work with Forward Deployed Engineering managers to staff engagements and adjust staffing as scope changes.
  • Lead the most complex engagements, including delivery planning through production deployment.
  • Set standards for statements of work, MVP scoping, value measurement, and defensible impact stories.
  • Codify reusable solution patterns, evaluation frameworks, and technical playbooks.
  • Partner with Sales to qualify engagements, shape scope, and inform statements of work.
  • Partner with Marketing and Sales on Financial Services go-to-market materials, reference cases, and positioning.
  • Run engagement reviews, knowledge-sharing sessions, escalation support, and team operating rhythms.
  • Set team goals tied to customer outcomes.
  • Surface delivery lessons and emerging Financial Services use cases to Product and Research.
  • Uphold Anthropic’s values and ensure Technical Deployment Leads represent the company’s culture in customer environments.
  • Travel to customer sites 25–50% of the time.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience leading enterprise AI/ML delivery, including at least 3 years directly managing people responsible for delivery outcomes.
  • Experience building and leading technical delivery teams in enterprise environments, ideally embedded or forward-deployed teams working at client sites.
  • Experience delivering AI, ML, or LLM-based agentic solutions into production.
  • Understanding of solution patterns, integration approaches, and production deployment challenges.
  • Financial Services experience, including delivery of technology programs within banks, insurers, or asset managers.
  • Understanding of how model risk, security, and compliance reviews affect technology deployments.
  • Ability to communicate credibly with CIOs, chief risk officers, and heads of engineering.
  • Ability to navigate architecture discussions, evaluate technical trade-offs, and assess whether proposed agent designs are realistic.
  • Experience with value-based scoping, including total cost of ownership and return on investment quantification, as well as post-deployment impact measurement.
  • Experience building a team, practice, or function from an early stage and creating structure in ambiguous environments.
  • Executive presence and the ability to communicate effectively with senior leaders and delivery teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical complexity into clear narratives.
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Relevant field of study demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience.

Compensation

  • Annual salary: $240,000–$450,000 USD.

Logistics and Benefits

  • Location-based hybrid policy: Staff are expected to work from one of Anthropic’s offices at least 25% of the time; some roles may require more office time.
