About proficiency levels:
- 1-2 — basic awareness. Minimal hands-on experience, and a rudimentary understanding of the technology's purpose;
- 3-6 — daily use. Comfortable and regular usage, capable of handling common tasks and challenges related to the technology;
- 7-9 — you are an expert, you can teach others, you know all the pitfalls and tricks;
- 10 — exceptional knowledge, comprehensive understanding, and adeptness in all aspects of the technology, including advanced problem-solving. Think twice before claiming or demanding such level.

- Define, design, and develop integrated GPU system software components, such as Jetson Orin, and discrete GPU system software components, such as Hopper H100.
- Develop runtime and math library components focused on power and performance.
- Create architecture and design specifications.
- Work with operating systems, multithreaded debugging, Linux kernel development, RTOS development on embedded platforms, data structures and algorithms, computer networking, and low-level programming.
Software Security
- Harden and develop secure solutions across the software stack, from multi-node supercomputers to microcontrollers and security co-processors.
- Build tools and infrastructure to scale security efforts across large organizations and codebases with millions of lines of code.
- Apply knowledge of operating systems, data structures and algorithms, computer networking, network security, cryptography, computer systems architecture, and microcontroller and microprocessor fundamentals.
Graphics Systems Software
- Design and implement OpenGL, OpenGL ES, and Vulkan graphics drivers, platform support, and conformance tests for new hardware features.
- Collaborate with software, hardware, architecture, and support teams.
- Train and debug issues in the Tegra graphics software stack.
- Apply knowledge of computer architecture, operating systems, real-time systems development, device driver programming, game console middleware, low-level library development, and 2D and 3D graphics theory and optimization.
Compiler
- Work on deep-learning compiler technology, including architecture design and support through functional languages.
- Investigate problems and optimization opportunities in the compiler backend.
- Collaborate with global compiler, hardware, and application teams to improve systems and resolve problems.
- Work with compiler construction, advanced algorithms and data structures, computer architecture, compiler development, open-source programming, high-performance computing, and tools such as XLA, TVM, Halide, Clang, LLVM, and GCC.
Firmware and Embedded Software
- Develop firmware for embedded microcontrollers within GPUs.
- Optimize software to improve system robustness, performance, and security.
- Test new and existing firmware.
- Develop tools and infrastructure to improve front-end design and verification processes.
- Apply knowledge of embedded systems, real-time performance, low-level development, computer architecture, Linux kernel development, multithreaded and multiprocess programming, and RTOS development on embedded platforms.
Requirements
- Must be actively enrolled in a university and pursuing a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field for the full duration of the internship.
- The anticipated graduation month and year must be clearly indicated on the resume or CV.
- Depending on the internship role, prior experience or knowledge may be required in C, C++, C++17, CUDA, x86, Perl, ARM CPUs, GPUs, Embedded C, Linux, Linux kernel development, Bash or shell scripting, and 2D and 3D graphics, rendering, and shaders.
- Relevant knowledge may include operating systems, formal verification tools such as Spark and Frama-C, multithreaded or multiprocess programming, computer networking, open-source tools such as Clang, LLVM, and GCC, testing and production automation tools such as XLA, TVM, and Halide, and microprocessor fundamentals including caches, buses, memory controllers, and DMA.
