Details
NVIDIA Research is looking for research interns to join the AI-Aided Engineering (AIE) team. The team develops novel AI methods for physical simulation and engineering design, with a focus on neural operators, geometric representations, and large-scale learning. Interns will work with experienced mentors on research with real-world impact, with opportunities to publish at leading conferences and journals.
Responsibilities
- Research, design, and implement novel AI methods for physical simulation and engineering design.
- Work collaboratively with the team, mentors, and other researchers.
- Collaborate with product groups to transfer research into practical applications.
Requirements
- Pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong research track record and ability to develop and evaluate new ideas.
- Excellent Python programming skills and experience with PyTorch or a comparable framework.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong expertise in at least one of the following areas:
- Physical simulation and engineering, including computational fluid dynamics (CFD), numerical solvers, simulation-result analysis, CAD/NURBS-based geometric modeling, or geometry processing.
- Large-scale deep learning model training, including large language models, vision transformers, or other large-scale neural networks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with geometry encoding and learning from meshes, point clouds, or CAD.
- Experience developing agentic AI systems, particularly for tool use, automated experimentation, or scientific and engineering workflows.
Benefits
NVIDIA offers competitive salaries, a comprehensive benefits package, and intern benefits. NVIDIA is committed to fostering an inclusive work environment and is an equal opportunity employer.
Applications will be accepted at least until October 11, 2026. This posting is for an existing vacancy. NVIDIA uses AI tools in its recruiting processes.
