Details
Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. The Foreign Exchange team builds products and infrastructure that help Stripe users operate across currencies, including holding balances, converting currencies, managing currency exposure, and reconciling results.
The team is developing a unified currency-management layer for globally operating businesses, platforms, and marketplaces. A key part of this vision is agentic currency management, including Stripe-native agents and customer or third-party agents that can understand exposures, obtain pricing, execute conversions or hedges, and reconcile results within defined policies and controls.
Responsibilities
- Deeply understand how global businesses and platforms manage currencies, including holding, converting, forecasting, hedging, and reconciliation.
- Own the strategy, roadmap, and success metrics for a focused area of Stripe’s FX and currency-management offering.
- Identify high-value customer problems and take new products from discovery through launch, adoption, and iteration.
- Define Stripe’s approach to agentic currency management, including Stripe-native experiences, agent-ready APIs, permissions, controls, and evaluation.
- Partner closely with Engineering and Design to build simple, reliable products across user experiences, APIs, data models, and financial infrastructure.
- Work across Treasury, Risk, Legal, Finance, Sales, and Product Marketing to ensure products are economically sound, operationally scalable, and successful with customers.
- Use customer insights and product results to shape Stripe’s broader FX and currency-management strategy.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years of product management experience, including taking technically complex products from problem definition through launch and iteration.
- Demonstrated ability to turn ambiguous customer problems into clear product strategies and focused roadmaps.
- Experience building financial infrastructure, enterprise software, APIs, regulated products, AI-native products, or similarly complex systems.
- Strong technical judgment and experience partnering with engineers on APIs, data flows, reliability, and system behavior.
- Strong customer instincts and experience translating complex financial or operational workflows into simple, scalable products.
- Strong analytical judgment and ability to make decisions with incomplete information.
- Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain product decisions, risks, and tradeoffs across technical and nontechnical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with foreign exchange, multi-currency products, treasury, cross-border money movement, hedging, or financial risk management.
- Experience building AI-native or agentic products, especially systems that can recommend or take actions within defined controls.
- Experience building products for finance or treasury teams at globally operating businesses.
- Experience with API-first, configurable, or automated financial products.
- Familiarity with the economics, accounting, liquidity, regulatory, or operational considerations involved in FX products.
Collaboration
The role works closely with Engineering and Design on product experiences, APIs, data models, agent behavior, controls, and system reliability. It also partners with Treasury, Risk, Legal, Finance, Sales, and Product Marketing to ensure the products are economically sound, operationally scalable, and ready for customers.
