Details
Stripe's Global Partner Engineering and Operations team manages the technical and operational dimensions of strategic product partnerships and programs. The team supports technical onboarding, implementation, ongoing KTLO activities, quality and performance benchmarks, and partner-agnostic solutions that improve operational efficiency and scalability.
This role will establish and manage a new Card Network Compliance function. The successful candidate will develop programs and processes to address card network changes and their implications for Stripe and its users, monitor card network announcements, strengthen Stripe's strategic position, and drive operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Establish a release management process for Stripe in accordance with card network mandates.
- Advise cross-functional partners on the impacts, changes, and timelines associated with network updates.
- Analyze how card network mandates affect existing processes and services.
- Review and assess biannual card network releases to identify initiatives that significantly impact Stripe's business.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure visibility and prioritization of card network initiatives.
- Facilitate communication between engineering teams and card network Technical Partner Managers regarding complex mandates and programs.
- Establish frameworks and processes for monitoring compliance with card network requirements and internal policies.
- Ensure regular audits and assessments are conducted to identify gaps and drive continuous improvement.
- Create and implement metrics and JIRA dashboards to monitor, review, and analyze mandates for each release cycle.
- Update dashboards to reflect current business priorities and challenges, enabling informed decisions and proactive issue resolution.
- Oversee the network mandate intake process, including timely review, assessment, and prioritization.
- Proactively manage waiver requests and liaise between compliance and operational teams to resolve them.
- Engage with external network partners through councils, forums, and strategic meetings.
- Build relationships that support mutual understanding of goals and objectives.
- Advocate for Stripe within the card network ecosystem.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in the payments industry, with significant expertise working with card networks and understanding card network rules and compliance activities.
- In-depth understanding of acquiring platforms and systems and their interactions with card network products and processes.
- Proficiency with JIRA for project management and tracking.
- Familiarity with card network portals for managing and monitoring compliance activities.
- Comfort using Google Workspace tools, including Sheets, Docs, and Slides, for collaboration and documentation.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with product and engineering teams to develop processes and strategies.
- Strong program and project management skills, including the ability to engage and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging internal and external partners and driving change.
- Ability to work with minimal guidance and navigate uncertainty and ambiguity while shaping a new program and function.
- Strategic thinking and the ability to identify cross-functional issues, develop innovative solutions, and communicate their implications across processes, systems, and teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience at a payment service provider, card network, or high-growth technology company.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Finance or Technology.
