Details

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. The Bridge team is creating a payments platform built with stablecoins to simplify global money movement. Bridge enables faster, cheaper cross-border payments and borderless access to dollars through APIs, virtual accounts, and payouts infrastructure.

The Security Engineer will build and scale the Bridge security foundation, designing a security program from the ground up while leveraging Stripe's infrastructure, best practices, and security tooling.

Responsibilities

Design and implement the Bridge security roadmap from first principles through production.
Identify and address the most important Bridge security risks quickly and pragmatically.
Integrate with Stripe infrastructure where appropriate and develop custom solutions where necessary.
Lead threat modeling and hardening efforts for Bridge money movement systems in collaboration with crypto and infrastructure teams.
Build key security capabilities, including monitoring, secrets management, incident response, access controls, and CI/CD hardening.
Reinforce engineering best practices around secure development and infrastructure.
Ensure Bridge meets compliance and audit expectations as it scales into more regulated markets.
Collaborate with engineering, product, and the Stripe security organization to move quickly without compromising safety.

Requirements

8+ years of experience in security engineering.
Experience building or scaling security programs at a startup or in an embedded role.
Experience in fast-paced startup environments and building security practices from the ground up.
A scrappy, pragmatic, and quick problem-solving mindset.
Comfort writing and debugging backend application code; Ruby experience is preferred.
Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to ruthlessly prioritize.
Ability to balance security rigor with speed in fast-moving environments.
Clear communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Interest in the potential of crypto and stablecoins to power global financial infrastructure.
