Security Program Manager

OpenAI is seeking a Program Manager to build and own programs across its Security organization, with a core focus on Mergers & Acquisitions. The role covers diligence through Day 1 readiness, integration, onboarding, post-close transition, and handoff to ongoing owners. The position is cross-functional and execution-focused, requiring structured program management, sound judgment, and the use of AI and automation to improve operational scale while appropriately handling sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Own Security and IT M&A programs, including diligence assessments, acquisition integration planning and execution, Day 1 readiness, onboarding of people and systems, post-close priorities, and handoff to ongoing owners.
• Partner with Corporate Development, IT, Infrastructure, Application, Legal, Privacy, Security, GRC, Corporate Security, System Operations, engineering teams, and other stakeholders.
• Clarify responsibilities and decision rights, navigate tradeoffs, and involve appropriate experts for technical and risk judgments.
• Identify missed dependencies, bottlenecks, duplicated effort, recurring exceptions, and other risks that could affect integrations.
• Build scalable frameworks, workflows, playbooks, onboarding checklists, decision points, intake paths, and handoff standards.
• Use AI and automation to organize information, surface gaps, improve documentation, route work, and track follow-through, with human review of risk decisions.
• Maintain visibility across deals, risks, milestones, and dependencies, and measure readiness, risk reduction, manual-effort reduction, and transition predictability.
• Communicate status, risks, tradeoffs, and decisions to technical and executive audiences.
• Own additional programs spanning Security and IT as organizational priorities evolve.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience leading complex cross-functional programs.
• Proven experience partnering in security, IT, infrastructure, privacy, trust, product risk, or other technical domains.
• Experience carrying programs from an ambiguous starting point through execution and lasting ownership.
• Experience building and gaining adoption for a new program, workflow, or operating model.
• Experience using AI or automation to improve a real workflow, including understanding where human judgment remains necessary.
• Experience in Mergers & Acquisitions or related areas.
• Strong communication, influencing, relationship-building, systems-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to operate with rigor, attention to detail, accountability, and a bias toward aligned execution across organizational boundaries.
