Details

Join the DRIVE Road Structure, Online Mapping, and Context Fusion team to help shape the future of autonomous driving. The role focuses on developing a comprehensive 3D world model by integrating map and perception data, enabling vehicles to navigate complex roads and intersections in the United States and Europe. You will collaborate closely with perception and planning teams to deliver robust autonomous-driving solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop foundational autonomous-driving systems across diverse geographies by merging state-of-the-art perception deep neural networks (DNNs) with map data.
  • Build real-time 3D world models by integrating sensor and external inputs for planning and navigation.
  • Design enriched bird's-eye-view (BEV) models to support HD-mapless driving in complex urban environments.
  • Construct fused static-obstacle and occupancy grids and generate occlusion masks to improve scenario understanding.
  • Lead technology initiatives and guide the team in solving challenging autonomous-vehicle problems while contributing hands-on.
  • Recruit, hire, mentor, and help grow talented engineers.
  • Develop algorithms that perform reliably on large datasets and across varied conditions while adhering to automotive quality and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience, including at least 2 years in autonomous vehicles or robotics.
  • At least 2 years of technical leadership experience.
  • Strong interest in robotics and autonomous vehicles.
  • Strong independent and analytical software-engineering abilities.
  • Experience with embedded or automotive software development.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, particularly when working with global teams.
  • Expertise in 3D geometry, computer vision, sensor calibration, or state estimation, such as Kalman or particle filters, is advantageous.
  • Significant industry experience with self-driving cars is advantageous.
  • Experience developing real-time computer-vision systems is advantageous.
  • Strong API and framework design skills are advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary range: $184,000–$287,500 for Level 4.
  • Base salary range: $224,000–$356,500 for Level 5.
  • Compensation is determined based on location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
  • Eligible for equity and benefits.
