Details

Join the DRIVE Road Structure, Online Mapping, and Context Fusion team to help build the next generation of self-driving technology. The role focuses on developing advanced 3D world models that combine map and perception data, enabling vehicles to safely navigate complex roads and intersections in the United States and China.

Responsibilities

  • Help develop and refine core autonomous driving systems that integrate perception and mapping technologies for diverse driving environments.
  • Create real-time 3D world models by combining sensor data and external data sources to support planning and navigation.
  • Support mapless driving capabilities through enriched bird’s-eye-view (BEV) models for navigating complex urban environments without relying solely on high-definition maps.
  • Build static obstacle and occupancy grids and generate occlusion masks to improve environmental understanding.
  • Collaborate with perception and planning teams in a diverse and global environment.
  • Write high-quality code and follow automotive industry best practices for safety and reliability.

Requirements

  • PhD with at least 1 year of relevant experience, MS with at least 4 years of relevant experience, or BS/equivalent experience with at least 6 years of relevant experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Strong software development experience, ideally with exposure to robotics, autonomous vehicles, or related fields.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in robotics and autonomous driving.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Experience with embedded systems or automotive platforms is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with 3D geometry, computer vision, sensor calibration, or state estimation algorithms such as Kalman or particle filters.
  • Experience working on real-time computer vision systems.
  • Skills in designing APIs or software frameworks.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range is USD 184,000–287,500 for Level 4 and USD 224,000–356,500 for Level 5. Employees are also eligible for equity and benefits.
