Airbnb New Initiatives is the internal engine for building new businesses — identifying opportunities beyond Airbnb's core offering, testing them quickly, and scaling what works into durable, high-performing businesses with global reach. The Ticketing role sits on this team and is accountable for defining strategy, setting priorities, and driving outcomes across supply activation, tickets sold, Gross Booking Value (GBV), and guest experience quality.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive Airbnb's approach to tickets: build business cases, prioritize partners and categories, and translate market dynamics into growth plans that move the needle on supply activation, GBV, and customer experience.
  • Maintain deep, current market and partner intelligence across tours, activities, attractions, and live events, including knowledge of OTAs, primary and secondary ticketers, reservation systems, and channel managers.
  • Build financial models, performance frameworks, and operational analyses that underpin strategic decisions; go deep on the data personally and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Supply, Finance, and Partnerships to align plans, close gaps, and ensure the right priorities are executed.
  • Influence product roadmaps and shape requirements without owning engineering resources; understand how demand flows through distribution technology partners.
  • Engage and advise internal and external stakeholders; present clear recommendations that drive decisions.
  • Identify and test new levers (incentives, partner programs, go-to-market approaches) to accelerate supply activation, tickets sold, and GBV.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in strategy, business operations, or closely related fields at a high-growth technology or marketplace company; MBA preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to own ambiguous, high-impact problems and deliver measurable results.
  • Genuine analytical depth: builds complex financial and operational models personally and finds non-obvious insights in large datasets.
  • Proficient in Excel; SQL experience strongly preferred. Actively uses AI tools to accelerate analysis.
  • Product fluency: understands software product development, can identify gaps and write structured requirements, and influence roadmaps.
  • Marketing fluency: understands growth and acquisition mechanics and has experience working with marketing on demand-side programs to drive conversion and LTV.
  • Experience in or adjacent to the ticketing technology ecosystem (channel managers, reservation systems, ticketing platforms).
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills; comfortable presenting to partners and executives.
  • Operates effectively without direct authority and is outcome-obsessed.

Location

  • US - Remote Eligible. Candidates must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites as agreed with the manager.
