Senior Developer Advocate

Details

As a Senior Developer Advocate at GitLab, you will help technical audiences understand and use GitLab's intelligent orchestration platform, including GitLab Duo Agent Platform and other newer capabilities. You will discover real-world workflows, create demos and technical content, engage with customers and developer communities, and bring feedback back to GitLab. The role covers U.S. and Canadian time zones and requires up to 20% travel for events and customer meetings.

Responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of GitLab's platform, especially its AI agent capabilities, and identify productive real-world use cases.
• Create product content, including videos, blog posts, presentations, and social clips, demonstrating GitLab through the user interface and terminal.
• Produce video content end to end by scripting, recording, and editing product walkthroughs and demos.
• Collaborate with GitLab's video team on longer or higher-production video pieces.
• Deliver product demos and participate in analyst briefings.
• Engage with customers through webinars, customer meetings, and other conversations.
• Participate in the developer community through the GitLab forum, Discord, social platforms, newsletters, and events.
• Answer technical questions received through the sales team.
• Partner with support, sales, and product teams on developer-facing educational content.
• Share product feedback with product teams and test new features.
• Contribute to technical research and analysis of the developer tools landscape.
• Travel up to 20% for events and customer meetings.

Requirements

• Hands-on technical experience and an understanding of how software is built, particularly the processes and infrastructure involved after code is written.
• Understanding of artificial intelligence and its use in software development, from coding through production.
• Experience building and operating agentic systems and infrastructure.
• Ability to explain technical products clearly through product demos, recorded walkthroughs, and conference presentations.
• Fluency with developer social platforms and the ability to participate credibly in technical conversations.
• Curiosity, self-direction, and the ability to identify relevant topics and opportunities.
• Experience engaging with customers, developers, or technical communities.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across sales, engineering, product, and other teams.
