Senior Director, Dedicated Infrastructure & Platforms

GitLab is seeking a senior engineering leader to lead the organization responsible for GitLab Dedicated, its premium single-tenant SaaS offering for enterprise customers in regulated industries and the public sector. The role owns the strategy, roadmap, and operational success of dedicated and cellular platforms, including orchestration, integrations, resilience, incident response, Switchboard APIs, public sector compliance, and enterprise customer migrations.

The mission is to scale GitLab Dedicated while ensuring enterprise customers receive full platform capabilities, compliance certifications, enterprise-grade SLAs, and highly secure, highly available experiences in isolated environments. The role also includes defining strategy for single-tenant and public sector SaaS platforms, driving infrastructure investments, ensuring FedRAMP and compliance operational readiness, and building Switchboard and migration capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Own the strategy and roadmap for GitLab Dedicated and ensure the platform scales with customer growth and converges with GitLab's cellular architecture.
• Partner with Product and executive leadership to deliver growth targets focused on platform reliability, faster customer onboarding, infrastructure cost efficiency, and self-service administration.
• Lead engineering teams responsible for tenant orchestration and integrations, resilience and incident response, the Switchboard control plane, public sector platforms and compliance, and enterprise migrations and import tooling.
• Uphold enterprise-grade service-level agreements across every tenant.
• Deliver GitLab Dedicated for Government, including AWS GovCloud infrastructure, FedRAMP operations and audit readiness, air-gapped isolation, and public sector feature delivery.
• Make enterprise migrations to Dedicated predictable, repeatable, and low-disruption through self-service tooling and guided workflows.
• Hire, coach, and scale engineering managers across distributed teams.
• Introduce practical AI-enabled workflows to improve organizational efficiency.
• Partner with Product, Security, and Customer Support to align customer commitments, architecture, and investments.
• Translate financial targets into engineering investments, headcount plans, and execution roadmaps.

Requirements

• Experience leading engineering organizations that operate enterprise single-tenant or multi-tenant SaaS infrastructure and cloud platforms at scale.
• Demonstrated success improving production reliability, reducing toil, or lowering infrastructure costs on an owned platform.
• Deep expertise in cloud-native and cellular architectures, Infrastructure as Code, and modular services that deploy and scale independently across cloud environments.
• Experience delivering and operating enterprise offerings under strict compliance regimes such as FedRAMP and AWS GovCloud.
• Experience leading organizational changes, including adopting AI-enabled workflows that improve engineering system efficiency.
• A leadership approach based on ownership, speed with quality, and customer outcomes.
