Details
NVIDIA is seeking a motivated CAD Engineer to join the Advanced Technology Group. The role supports the installation of foundry technology files, provides expert assistance to designers debugging tools, technology files, and design errors, and develops flows and scripts to improve the productivity of custom circuit designers worldwide. The position involves both development and support and requires strong interpersonal skills due to its support responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and support foundry technology files.
- Debug design errors and facilitate resolution by explaining user errors to designers, technology file errors to foundry support teams, and tool errors to EDA partners.
- Customize foundry technology files to define and implement NVIDIA design methodologies.
- Support and maintain CAD tools used by integrated-circuit designers, including Virtuoso, IC Manage, DRC/LVS verification tools, extraction tools, and SPICE simulation tools.
- Work with CAD tool vendors to identify and resolve bugs, improve tool usability, and evaluate new tools and features.
- Develop infrastructure to support design work in new process technologies.
- Write scripts using Perl and Cadence SKILL.
- Implement NVIDIA-specific DFM and DRC rules using ICV.
- Add NVIDIA-specific devices to LVS decks using ICV.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience; a master's degree is preferred.
- Five or more years of work experience.
- Basic understanding of MOSFET device behavior, CMOS layout, and VLSI design.
- Excellent programming skills, including experience with Perl and Cadence SKILL.
- Expertise in ICV for supporting, enhancing, and debugging foundry DRC and LVS technology files.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Passion for providing excellent support to end users.
- Solid Electrical Engineering or Computer Science background with an understanding of circuits, layouts, and VLSI design.
