Details

Quantum computing is a strategic priority for NVIDIA, and the team aims to help accelerate the entire ecosystem. In this role, you will join a rapidly growing Quantum Computing team and work with internal and external teams to define system requirements that enable fault-tolerant quantum computing.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal product, research, and engineering teams and external partners to define system requirements for fault-tolerant quantum computing.
  • Develop novel approaches to real-time quantum error correction and calibration, supported by rigorous systems analysis for a variety of qubit modalities.
  • Distill product requirements into technical requirements across hardware, software, and firmware.
  • Develop test cases supporting technical requirements and review test implementations for correctness and completeness.
  • Promote collaboration, rapid innovation, technical depth, and creative problem solving.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related engineering field, or equivalent experience. Higher degrees are welcome.
  • At least 5 years of post-bachelor's experience, including responsibility for engineering across multiple parts of a complex hardware and software system.
  • Deep hands-on experience working with real qubits and quantum control systems software.
  • Passion for driving technology innovations into NVIDIA software and hardware products to support quantum computing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing quantum control systems and techniques, including communication and networking.
  • Experience developing real-time systems and embedded software.
  • Knowledge of methods for benchmarking quantum computers.
  • Experience adopting artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques.
  • Experience with CUDA and NVIDIA GPUs.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary is determined based on location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary ranges are:

  • Level 3: USD 152,000–218,500 per year
  • Level 4: USD 184,000–287,500 per year

The role also includes eligibility for equity and benefits.
