The Autonomous Vehicles Platform team is looking for a hands-on Cybersecurity Software Engineer. You will work on Autonomous Driving Platform software, implementing performant and scalable solutions for data collection and autonomous vehicle fleets. The team develops platform and middleware features for self-driving cars, including software security features interacting with cameras, LIDAR, RADAR, GPS, IMU, Vehicle CAN, and other sensors. The role involves implementing security concepts and developing state-of-the-art security features for the AV Platform while collaborating across platform and embedded software, cloud infrastructure, safety, and performance teams.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate security features into the AV driving software stack.
  • Develop and improve security work products for the AV stack.
  • Work on security-related software ranging from sensor abstraction layers to data processing and middleware software.
  • Work on security governance topics and guide other teams in implementing security mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with hardware, platform software, product, safety, performance, algorithms, and cloud teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of professional experience working on system software.
  • Excellent programming skills in C++, C, and Python.
  • Familiarity with source control tools.
  • Solid understanding of Linux, QNX, ROS, and/or real-time operating systems.
  • Experience developing user-space system software, with a willingness to work in kernel space and/or with low-level hardware when needed.
  • Knowledge of embedded system programming, threading, mutexes, synchronization, communication, and parallel computing for building highly scalable and efficient applications.
  • Familiarity with CPU/GPU and memory hardware architecture and performance.
  • Prior experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, self-driving cars, GPU technology, embedded systems, or computer vision.
  • Outstanding communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of system architecture, including CPU, GPU, memory, storage, and performance optimization.
  • Experience building autonomous vehicle or robotic systems.
  • Hands-on experience with embedded development, operating systems, and real-time software.

Compensation And Benefits

  • Base salary range of $184,000–$287,500 USD for Level 4.
  • Base salary range of $224,000–$356,500 USD for Level 5.
  • Eligibility for equity and benefits.
  • Salary is determined based on location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
  • Full-time position.
