Details

NVIDIA is seeking a software engineer to accelerate Jetson embedded systems development and help deliver AI-at-the-edge platforms. The role involves developing embedded software across the hardware platform, boot firmware, Linux kernel, operating system, and specialized software SDKs.

Responsibilities

  • Define and expose the capabilities of Jetson platforms and bring new generations of AI-at-the-edge platforms to life.
  • Contribute across hardware platform analysis, boot firmware, the Linux kernel, operating system components, and specialized software SDKs.
  • Lead and collaborate with a worldwide software development team.
  • Collaborate with hardware and product design teams to develop system-level software architectures for complex system-on-module embedded platforms.
  • Build, implement, and improve system services for scalability, reliability, efficiency, and security.
  • Resolve complex system-level optimization and resource utilization challenges.
  • Participate in a product development lifecycle focused on clear requirements, software quality, and performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in science, or a master's degree accompanied by more than five years of demonstrated experience in Linux and advanced embedded systems development.
  • Eight or more years of industry experience developing and sustaining commercially available embedded products through a full product lifecycle.
  • Strong technical collaboration skills and the ability to guide multiple teams.
  • Enthusiasm for extending technical knowledge into new areas.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a history of achieving performance objectives.
  • Hands-on experience developing high-quality software with C, C++, Python, and Bash.
  • Willingness to mentor others.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Contributions to open-source software projects.
  • Experience with Linux kernel and device driver development.
  • Experience developing complete platform Board Support Packages (BSPs) for release.
  • Experience with GPU, graphics driver, and X11 development.
  • Strong knowledge of embedded software release procedures, Jenkins pipelines, automated testing, and over-the-air (OTA) updates.
  • Comprehensive understanding of security principles and experience reviewing products and architectures to produce security assessments.
  • Experience with Jetson, IGX, or DGX Spark developer kits.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range is USD 184,000–287,500, determined by location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The role is also eligible for equity and benefits.
