Details

NVIDIA is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join the Embedded Platform team. The role focuses on accelerating Jetson, IGX, and DGX Spark product software system development. You will use your expertise in embedded platforms, Linux real-time kernel operating systems, and software architectures to address the challenges of delivering platforms for edge AI applications.

Responsibilities

  • Implement features that showcase the capabilities of Jetson- and IGX-based robotics, drone, and industrial automation platforms, from board bring-up through production release.
  • Define, build, and tune real-time Linux kernels for deterministic workloads based on GPU- and SoC-dependent accelerators.
  • Enable various I/O interfaces and validate sensor interfaces used by robotics, drones, and industrial automation systems.
  • Work with robotics partners and internal hardware, safety, and middleware teams to turn customer use cases into platform features, reference configurations, and tools.
  • Engage in the full product lifecycle, from hardware bring-up to production deployment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 8 years of experience in Linux and sophisticated embedded systems development, with strong programming skills.
  • Ability to understand robotics, drone, or industrial automation platform hardware architectures and work with hardware teams.
  • Hands-on experience shipping board support packages (BSPs) for robotics, drone, or industrial automation platforms.
  • Knowledge of Linux kernel internals, including device drivers, device trees, boot flow, and debugging with tracing tools.
  • Proven real-time Linux kernel development experience.
  • Outstanding technical skills and the ability to work across complementary teams.
  • Experience modeling GPU, sensor, and other accelerator-engine workloads for robotics, drone, or industrial automation applications.
  • Experience with an RTOS such as FreeRTOS or Zephyr is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of how middleware frameworks such as ROS2 affect platform determinism.
  • Experience building tools or frameworks that allow customers to configure and verify real-time behavior on deployed systems.
  • Familiarity with embedded microprocessor architectures such as ARM, the Linux kernel, and related subsystems.
  • Experience with developer kits for robotics, drones, or industrial automation platforms.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary range: USD 184,000–287,500 per year.
  • Eligible for equity and benefits.
  • Applications will be accepted at least until November 1, 2026.
  • NVIDIA is an equal opportunity employer committed to an inclusive work environment.
