NVIDIA’s Deep Learning Safety group is looking for a Senior Software Safety Engineer to help develop the next generation of autonomous-driving products. The role involves working on system, hardware, and software technology for autonomous driving, with a focus on software safety, architecture, development processes, and automotive safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Work with NVIDIA deep learning engineering teams to ensure software products and development processes meet automotive safety standards.
  • Promote a safety culture and guide development teams toward successful implementation of ISO 26262.
  • Influence next-generation software and hardware architecture from a safety perspective.
  • Drive and support engineering activities according to ISO 26262 standards throughout all project phases, including concept, design, development, and validation.
  • Support internal and external ISO 26262 process and product audits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience in C/C++.
  • Strong programming, communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to learn and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to good programming and design practices.
  • Significant experience defining processes for quality and safety conformance in mission-critical applications.
  • Understanding of ISO process standards, methodologies, audit expectations, and documentation standards.
  • High standards for quality with a proven track record of demonstrating them.
  • Knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety methodologies and standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Automotive SPICE methods, procedures, and tools, including requirements management, FMEA, and FTA.
  • Deep understanding of guidelines such as MISRA C++ and AUTOSAR C++14.
