Details

NVIDIA is developing technologies for AI, accelerated computing, computer graphics, gaming, robotics, and self-driving vehicles. The team is seeking a senior firmware engineer to help define and develop system-on-chip and graphics processing unit firmware and software.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Hardware, Software, and System Architecture teams to define end-to-end solutions.
  • Define firmware architecture for new products and features at the core of NVIDIA's SoC and GPU firmware and software.
  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic technologies, including functional safety, security, and next-generation SoC and GPU capabilities.
  • Drive technical direction across multiple teams while ensuring scalable, maintainable, and high-quality firmware architecture.
  • Work collaboratively within a diverse team with experience across a range of technologies, with an emphasis on the semiconductor industry.

Requirements

  • Understanding of Windows kernel-mode drivers and device firmware.
  • Track record of solving complex problems with C, C++, or related languages.
  • Experience with virtual memory management, interrupt handling, and other low-level system software functionality.
  • Collaborative demeanor and ability to consider new insights and alternative solutions to sophisticated problems.
  • Proven track record in firmware and/or software engineering.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-player mentality.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of relevant software experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with system and chip bring-up.
  • Background with virtualization technologies and containers.
  • Graphics programming knowledge.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range is $184,000–$287,500 for Level 4 and $224,000–$356,500 for Level 5. Base salary is determined by location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The role also includes eligibility for equity and benefits.
