The Autonomous Vehicles Platform team is seeking a Senior System Software Engineer to help bring NVIDIA's autonomous vehicle platform to market. This role involves developing and productizing solutions for transportation and self-driving vehicles. You will collaborate with multifunctional engineering teams across vehicle subsystems to integrate their work into NVIDIA's autonomous driving DRIVE software platform while ensuring compliance with relevant NVIDIA and automotive standards and guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead software integration using a systematic approach to streamline embedded development for NVIDIA DRIVE autonomous vehicle products.
  • Architect and develop platform software, tools, and filesystem customizations across multiple operating system environments with AI-powered workflows.
  • Work with system architects, software and firmware engineers, hardware/software QA teams, and application engineering teams to align cross-team dependencies and schedules, coordinate progress, and debug issues to meet production release timelines.
  • Engage with customer teams to productize workflows for platform integration.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to enable automated workflows for development, sanity testing, car validation, and software release deliveries.
  • Identify and implement build and packaging infrastructure requirements with other software engineers.
  • Develop automated tests to accelerate autonomous vehicle development.
  • Work in an environment involving hypervisors, Linux, and QNX RTOS.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience working on software development for autonomous vehicles.
  • Proficiency debugging from the application level to the kernel level on embedded hardware.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams.
  • Proven expertise in embedded systems, architecture design, and software/hardware cross-domain knowledge.
  • Ability and flexibility to work and communicate effectively in a multinational, multitime-zone corporate environment.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and proactive.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leveraging AI to build embedded projects and improve platform developer efficiency.
  • Experience with Linux and QNX filesystems; QNX RTOS experience is a major plus.
  • Background in automotive ECU software integration or prior experience in the automotive field.
  • Familiarity with the Bazel build system.
  • Exposure to Python programming, cloud services, Jenkins, and Docker in continuous integration and deployment systems.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range is USD 184,000 to USD 287,500, determined based on location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The role also includes eligibility for equity and benefits.
