Details

The Autonomous Vehicles Platform team builds the NVIDIA DriveWorks SDK, providing a scalable software stack and framework for autonomous vehicles. The role focuses on core technologies including sensor drivers and interfaces, data streaming, data recording and playback, and vehicle interface abstraction.

Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize software architectures and frameworks to deliver real-world performance that meets or exceeds customer specifications.
  • Develop high-efficiency product code in C++ using CUDA for GPGPU algorithmic parallelism, adhering to MISRA safety and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with vendors on the design and integration of innovative vehicular sensors.
  • Build sensor drivers, plug-ins, and core data-processing components.
  • Create highly optimized tools for sensor data recording, playback, and visualization.
  • Partner with control and vehicle teams to build self-driving interfaces.
  • Perform in-vehicle testing, collect field data, and analyze data integrity.
  • Support comprehensive data-collection campaigns across the autonomous vehicle program.

Requirements

  • BS or MS degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent C and C++ programming skills.
  • 8+ years of proven experience developing and debugging multithreaded or distributed applications, such as multimedia systems or game engines.
  • Strong knowledge of programming and debugging techniques, especially for parallel and distributed architectures.
  • Background in Linux, Android, and/or other real-time operating systems.
  • Experience with sensors such as cameras, LiDAR, radar, ultrasonics, IMU, and GPS.
  • Experience with vehicle control interfaces.
  • Ability to write low-latency, highly performant code.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of embedded architectures.
  • Experience with data-parallel and/or GPGPU programming, CUDA, and OpenCL.
  • Software development experience with modern OpenGL Core Profile and Linux.
  • Experience with version control systems, Git, and the CMake build system.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary range: USD 184,000–287,500 per year, determined based on location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
  • Eligible for equity and benefits.
