Details
GeForce NOW is NVIDIA's cloud gaming service, powered by GPUs, that transforms Mac, PC, or mobile devices into high-performance gaming systems. The service streams games in high definition with low latency and smooth frame rates.
As part of the GeForce NOW Platform Engineering team, you will help design, develop, and optimize high-performance gaming servers using state-of-the-art NVIDIA GPUs. This role involves working cross-functionally to improve cloud game streaming performance and stability.
Responsibilities
- Optimize game performance, Linux kernels, KVM hypervisors, and system software at scale.
- Understand and apply gaming workloads and streaming software interactions across kernel and user space.
- Bridge the gap between software and hardware for a cloud streaming service.
- Analyze and apply the factors that influence game performance and stability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's, master's, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- 12+ years of experience in system software engineering focused on platform performance.
- Knowledge of operating system kernel internals, memory management, computer architecture, and CPU-to-memory architecture.
- Proficiency in Python, C, C++, or Rust.
- Experience with performance-critical software, tools, and CPU/GPU schedulers.
- Passion for software design and software performance optimization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent knowledge of x86 and ARM architectures.
- Experience with hypervisors, game engines, and virtualization platforms.
- Experience with tools such as GPUView, Kubernetes, NVIDIA Nsight, and KernelShark.
- Proficiency in debugging complex problems.
