Details

NVIDIA's video software team is seeking a highly motivated engineer passionate about system software development. The role contributes to video system software stacks supporting ultra-low-latency cloud gaming, video broadcasting, videoconferencing, and low-power video playback.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to NVIDIA's video system software stack and work on projects involving cloud gaming, video broadcasting, videoconferencing, and video playback.
  • Learn about graphics processing units (GPUs) and video hardware accelerators and use their capabilities to build solutions.
  • Contribute to the Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM), including the video acceleration capture and encoding pipeline powering GeForce NOW.
  • Work on video playback support for browsers and applications.
  • Contribute to protection of premium video content through digital rights management (DRM).
  • Collaborate with teams across NVIDIA, partners, and customers.
  • Own features throughout their lifecycle, from requirements and design through production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience. A master's degree or higher is preferred.
  • 8+ years of meaningful software development experience; outstanding engineers with less experience may be considered.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ with strong software development, optimization, and debugging skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills, creativity, and the ability to debug and resolve complex, difficult-to-reproduce problems.
  • Experience with Windows or Linux driver development is helpful.
  • Knowledge of operating system internals and device driver models, particularly WDDM, is a strong plus.
  • Knowledge or experience with Microsoft Media Foundation Transform (MFT), DirectShow, DirectX, DXVA, video processing, and modern video compression standards such as H.264, HEVC, VP9, and AV1 is beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range is USD 184,000–287,500 for Level 4 and USD 224,000–356,500 for Level 5. Compensation is determined by location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The role is also eligible for equity and benefits.
