Details
NVIDIA’s Autonomous Vehicles Platforms Organization is seeking hands-on Systems Software Engineers to join the Autonomous Vehicles Fleet Engineering Integration team. The team defines how autonomous vehicles move from concept to large-scale fleet operations. This role involves working with engineers across the core platform and autonomous vehicle functions that power NVIDIA’s system software stack for autonomous vehicles.
The position focuses on integrating core system software with autonomous vehicle functions software to deliver an autonomous vehicle platform for internal and external customers. The work spans sensors, human-machine interfaces, sensor data recorders, high-speed storage solutions, perception, planning and control, safety, sensor calibration, and the NVIDIA ADAS stack.
Responsibilities
- Participate in and lead engineering collaborations with internal and external engineering leads to drive system bring-up of sophisticated vehicle hardware and software stacks.
- Productize components for fleet-scale production by defining and advocating measurable engineering metrics.
- Debug complex problems across cameras, radars, lidars, networks, perception systems, and underlying operating systems.
- Lead the left-shifting of tests into hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) platforms, focusing on issues affecting fleet operations.
- Conceptualize, architect, and productize software tools based on root-cause analysis of system and operational components, both vehicle-specific and fleet-wide.
- Apply strong systems software expertise, including operating systems, GPUs, sensor technologies, image processing, computer vision, and multimedia.
- Use knowledge of automotive technologies, HIL, and SIL systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Excellent programming skills in C++, C, and Python.
- Experience with source control tools such as Git and Perforce.
- Knowledge of system programming, threading, mutexes, synchronization, communication, and parallel computing for building scalable and efficient applications.
- Strong debugging abilities in highly pipelined software stacks.
- Engineering leadership skills across cross-matrixed organizations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automotive vehicle or robotic system fleet management systems.
- Experience integrating sophisticated software stacks and driving them toward productization.
- Knowledge of Linux, QNX, Android, or other real-time operating systems.
- Experience writing low-latency, highly performant code.
- Understanding of system architectures and performance and stability improvements across CPU, GPU, memory, and storage.
