NVIDIA is searching for an outstanding senior systems software engineer to join its GPU Diagnostics Software team. The team develops demanding applications for GPUs and high-performance computing servers throughout their lifecycle, working closely with kernel driver, GPU architecture, system design, and manufacturing teams.

The role requires strong C++ programming skills, detailed knowledge of device programming and algorithms, a solid foundation in systems software with an emphasis on operating system fundamentals, and a deep understanding of current-generation hardware architecture at the systems level.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, unit test, and debug changes in the NVIDIA software stack to take next-generation hardware from design and development through production.
  • Participate extensively in emulation, bring-up, and product hardening for NVIDIA products.
  • Follow devices from manufacturing through development and into datacenter systems, customer desktops, notebooks, and workstations.
  • Solve a variety of problems that directly impact NVIDIA end users and partner OEMs.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of hardware and software architectures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent programming skills and proficiency in C/C++, including libraries and toolchains.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience developing low-level systems software, preferably using Linux.
  • Strong software engineering skills and a drive to solve complex problems.
  • Familiarity with computer system architecture and microprocessor fundamentals, including caches, buses, memory controllers, and DMA.
  • Experience working on a large systems software codebase is preferred.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, along with strong collaborative and networking abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced development environments, particularly during critical project phases.
  • Ability to self-manage, demonstrate leadership, and maintain strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using modern AI productivity tools to streamline work, improve quality, and automate routine tasks.

  • Base salary range: USD 152,000–241,500 per year, determined by location, experience, and compensation for similar positions.
