Details

Glean is developing fully native mobile applications for iOS and Android to provide a refined mobile experience for its Work AI platform. The role will establish the technical foundations for new mobile codebases and use AI-enabled development workflows to accelerate delivery.

Responsibilities

Build the Applications

  • Build and ship native iOS and Android applications using Swift/SwiftUI and Kotlin/Jetpack Compose.
  • Deliver end-to-end user-facing features including search, AI Assistant, agents, notifications, widgets, App Intents, share extensions, live voice modes, and other operating-system integrations.
  • Create platform-native experiences following Apple's Human Interface Guidelines and Google's Material Design principles.
  • Ensure strong accessibility, performance, and offline behavior.
  • Define mobile architecture, including module boundaries, networking, persistence, concurrency, observability, and performance budgets.

Build the Infrastructure

  • Own mobile CI/CD, including automated builds and tests, code signing, TestFlight and Google Play Store deployment, phased rollouts, and release health monitoring.
  • Establish an AI-native development workflow with an agent-friendly repository, automated test generation, AI-assisted review, and tooling that enables coding agents to build, run, and verify mobile changes.

Own Enterprise Readiness

  • Build, sign, and ship enterprise application variants with customer-specific configuration and distribution requirements.
  • Own mobile authentication using OAuth 2.0/PKCE, OIDC/SAML SSO, secure token and session handling, conditional access, and device trust policies.
  • Support managed and BYOD environments, including MDM, MAM, managed application configuration, app protection policies, and Android Enterprise work profiles.
  • Design administrator-controlled data protection for downloads, sharing, copy/paste, and screenshots in collaboration with Security and Admin teams.
  • Emit reliable audit events for customer security tooling.
  • Represent mobile in enterprise security reviews and validate behavior on managed and unmanaged devices.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years shipping production mobile applications on both iOS and Android.
  • Proficiency in Swift or Kotlin, working knowledge of the other language, and willingness to develop cross-platform fluency.
  • Experience owning mobile CI/CD pipelines and release infrastructure, such as Fastlane, Xcode Cloud, GitHub Actions, Gradle, code signing, and staged rollouts.
  • Daily use of AI coding tools and experience structuring codebases and toolchains so that coding agents can work effectively.
  • Experience with mobile authentication technologies including OAuth 2.0/PKCE, OIDC/SAML, MSAL, ASWebAuthenticationSession, Custom Tabs, Keychain, and Android Keystore.
  • Experience shipping operating-system integrations such as widgets, App Intents, Shortcuts, extensions, or background work on at least one platform.
  • A startup mindset and the ability to own problems end to end, from infrastructure to user interface, in an ambiguous environment.
  • Nice to have: experience migrating a hybrid or cross-platform application to native, or shipping applications in MDM/MAM-managed enterprise environments.

Location and Work Arrangement

  • Hybrid role requiring four days per week in the Mountain View or San Francisco office.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Standard base salary: $140,000–$265,000 annually.
  • Certain roles may be eligible for variable compensation, equity, and benefits.
  • Medical, vision, and dental coverage.
  • Generous time-off policy and 401(k) plan.
  • Home office improvement stipend.
  • Annual education and wellness stipends.
  • Company events and healthy lunches daily.
