The Payments organization develops products and platforms for efficient payment acceptance, including payment-processing APIs, regional non-card payment options, and in-person payments. The Risk Engineering organization develops products that minimize financial and regulatory risks while ensuring a seamless user experience.
The Dublin-based Premium Merchant Experiences team is building a greenfield product that provides automated, AI-driven support and improved access to technical experts across Stripe. The Supportability Decisions team develops technology to distinguish legitimate businesses from bad actors at scale, combining sophisticated engineering and AI-assisted investigation. The Payments Intelligence team develops products such as Radar, Authorization Boost, and Authentication to optimize payment performance, conversion rates, costs, and fraud management.
Exact team matching for a subteam within the organization will begin during the final stages. Candidates may also be considered for other organizations based on experience and location.
Responsibilities
- Work with a wide range of systems, processes, and technologies to own and solve problems end-to-end.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers to build new features and products.
- Uphold high engineering standards and bring consistency to codebases and processes.
- Build elegant APIs and user experiences that enable merchants to run and scale their businesses on Stripe.
- Contribute to the design and architecture of the next generation of Stripe infrastructure to meet the long-term growth needs of the company and its customers.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- 2–12+ years of industry software engineering experience, excluding internships and co-ops.
- Ability to work effectively across the stack and navigate codebases using different languages and tools.
- Comfort shipping user-facing experiences and writing custom queries to analyze experiment results.
- Strong coding skills in any programming language; the interview process is language-agnostic.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work across team workstreams and contribute to peers' success.
- Ability to thrive with a high level of autonomy and responsibility and an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Interest in working as a generalist across varying technologies and stacks to solve problems and support internal and external users.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in high-growth teams similar to Stripe.
- Experience building financial systems or tools for financial experts.
