The role will architect how Reddit measures and optimizes marketing spend across B2B Marketing, focused on acquiring and retaining advertisers, and B2C Growth, focused on acquiring and engaging new Redditors.

The Marketing Science team uses advanced experimentation, causal inference, and econometrics to understand what drives users to Reddit and what brings advertisers to the platform. This is a high-autonomy role responsible for setting long-term strategic goals for marketing measurement, influencing senior leadership, and defining how Reddit values brand and performance marketing efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Establish North Star metrics and frameworks for allocating marketing budget.
  • Build and refine Media Mix Models (MMM) and Multi-Touch Attribution (MTA) systems to quantify the incremental impact of marketing spend.
  • Design unified frameworks for optimizing marketing aimed at new advertisers and new users, identifying synergies between advertiser and user growth.
  • Lead complex always-on incrementality testing and geo-holdout experiments.
  • Develop methodologies to measure the long-term halo effect of brand marketing on organic growth.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Growth, and Finance to translate data insights into actionable budget shifts.
  • Mentor junior scientists and establish standards for code quality and statistical rigor across the Marketing organization.

Requirements

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • For Master’s degree holders: 10 or more years of industry experience in marketing science, growth data science, or econometrics.
  • For Ph.D. holders: 6 or more years of industry experience.
  • Deep understanding of the marketing ecosystem, including hands-on experience with Marketing Mix Modeling, incrementality testing, and Customer Lifetime Value (LTV) prediction.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python or R and SQL.
  • Experience building production-grade data pipelines and using machine learning for predictive modeling, such as churn prediction and lead scoring.
  • Proven ability to influence C-suite stakeholders and translate complex statistical concepts into business strategy.
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments, navigating ambiguity, and building frameworks from the ground up.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Bayesian structural time series or causal inference libraries.
  • Previous experience in a high-growth marketplace or social media platform.
  • Passion for the Reddit community and understanding of Reddit’s Ads-as-Content philosophy.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive healthcare benefits and income replacement programs.
  • 401(k) with employer match.
  • Global benefits programs supporting workspace, professional development, and caregiving.
  • Family planning support.
  • Gender-affirming care.
  • Mental health and coaching benefits.
  • Flexible vacation and paid volunteer time off.
  • Generous paid parental leave.
  • Equity in the form of restricted stock units; some positions may also be eligible for commission.

Additional Information

The position is remote-friendly and based in the United States. Interviews may be recorded, transcribed, and summarized by artificial intelligence, with an option to opt out before scheduled interviews.
