Details

Stripe is building Organizations, which enables merchants to centrally manage businesses across multiple Stripe accounts. The User Auth Experience team is responsible for authentication, login, account security, access controls, and secure, usable experiences across Stripe's products.

As a leader on the team, you will help shape the team's vision and roadmap, guide and mentor peers, and lead by example. You will work with engineering and non-engineering teams to build robust, reusable, and standardized access controls; improve the security and usability of Stripe's authentication journey; and help protect users and data from fraudulent activity through risk assessment and refined workflows.

You will build well-tested APIs, UX/UI components, and analytics engines supporting the full-stack Dashboard authentication experience. You will also help create a generalized authentication platform that enables Stripe product teams to build safe, controlled features more quickly and confidently.

  • Experience with both frontend and backend development, with the ability to work as a generalist across the stack.
  • Ability to collaborate with other teams to identify high-impact solutions and solve problems quickly.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preference for simple, scalable, and durable solutions and designs.
  • Expertise at the intersection of security and authentication systems, including the ability to partner with Security and Fraud teams.
  • Strong understanding of IAM concepts, including Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and identity governance.
  • Experience building scalable, resilient, and observable systems, with an understanding of frontend UX best practices.
  • Ability to understand user needs and incorporate them into broader product and technical goals.
  • Experience integrating multiple services and processes.
  • Experience building software for fellow developers.
