Details

Anthropic is seeking a Technical Program Manager for Security to drive execution of high-stakes programs spanning security engineering, infrastructure, and cross-functional teams. The role will lead the strategy, planning, and execution of technical security programs that support Anthropic’s Responsible Scaling Policy commitments and build a security posture that scales with the company’s growth.

The role sits at the intersection of Security Engineering, Security Compliance, Infrastructure, Product, Research, and Policy. The successful candidate will thrive in ambiguity, make well-reasoned decisions under pressure, and translate complex security requirements into executable programs on compressed timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end security program execution for Responsible Scaling Policy security readiness, driving workstreams from requirements interpretation through implementation.
  • Coordinate across Security Engineering, Infrastructure, Research, and Compliance teams to meet Responsible Scaling Policy commitments on aggressive timelines.
  • Manage complex multi-team security control rollouts and migrations, including endpoint hardening and egress reduction.
  • Apply careful change management across engineering organizations.
  • Make real-time technical trade-off decisions balancing security controls, research velocity, and operational feasibility.
  • Build program structures for emerging security domains, including program charters, roles, timelines, communication strategies, and success metrics.
  • Manage security aspects of infrastructure partnerships, including contract requirements, relationship management, and security assurance processes.
  • Lead stakeholder communication and executive reporting through status updates, company-wide communications, program reviews, and visibility into milestones, blockers, and risks.

Requirements

  • Experience driving cross-functional projects, building longer-running programs, and working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience executing technical programs requiring systems and engineering-level knowledge.
  • Deep interest in or willingness to learn about cybersecurity or regulatory compliance.
  • Experience leveraging large language models to automate workflows, improve operational efficiency, and develop solutions to complex technical and organizational challenges.
  • Experience reporting on complex programs using data-driven benchmarks, including writing SQL queries.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence without authority and build cross-organizational support for security initiatives, policies, and procedures.
  • A track record of organizing, implementing, and managing complex programs and projects.
  • Ability to work through trade-offs, balance competing priorities, and adapt when circumstances or perspectives change.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • A field of study relevant to the role, demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience.

Compensation

  • Annual salary: $290,000–$365,000 USD

Logistics and Benefits

  • Hybrid policy: Staff are expected to work from one of Anthropic’s offices at least 25% of the time; some roles may require more office time.
  • Anthropic sponsors visas and makes reasonable efforts to support visa applications, with assistance from an immigration lawyer.
  • Benefits include competitive compensation, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and office collaboration spaces.
