Who We Are
About Stripe
Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Stripe’s mission is to increase the GDP of the internet.
About the Team
Stripe Terminal helps businesses extend their online presence into the physical world. Its mission is to make it as easy for businesses to accept in-person payments as Stripe has made it to accept payments online. Terminal provides an integrated in-person payments platform spanning software, payment processing, device fleet management, and hardware.
The hardware portfolio includes Stripe-designed readers and accessories, as well as devices from third-party hardware partners. These products enable businesses to build reliable, differentiated in-person payment experiences across various use cases, countries, and operating environments.
What You’ll Do
As a Terminal Technical Program Manager, you will become an expert in in-person payments. You’ll work with teams across Stripe to build, ship, and iterate on first-party and third-party hardware products, while advancing work on Tap-to-Pay and related initiatives.
You will partner closely with hardware engineering, firmware and software engineering, design, operations, logistics, partnerships, sales, finance, legal, and regional teams. You will also collaborate with Payments teams, card networks, and Local Payment Method schemes to bring unified commerce to life across Stripe’s device suite.
This is a highly cross-functional role for someone who can connect customer needs, technical constraints, business strategy, and execution across user experience, device capabilities, cost, quality, reliability, supply, and time to market.
Responsibilities
- Independently define programs across Terminal, including scoping, setting objectives, defining success criteria, and influencing resource allocation to deliver outcomes.
- Apply consistent prioritization and decision-making frameworks across programs, driving high-velocity yet durable decisions without creating downstream debt.
- Identify obstacles and risks across Terminal’s cross-functional workstreams, proactively communicate them to stakeholders, and develop plans to address and prevent recurrence.
- Represent the voice of Terminal’s consumers and merchants to stakeholders, translating user needs into clear program objectives and ensuring engineering and product decisions remain grounded in solving real problems.
- Drive clarity across stakeholders on goals, problems, and intended outcomes, serving as the connective tissue across Terminal sub-teams and their upstream and downstream dependencies.
- Represent the Terminal organization to collaborators across Stripe.
- Develop a strong point of view on Terminal’s product development strategy and use it to define programs with measurable outcomes, adapting them as products and user needs evolve.
- Understand technical challenges across Terminal’s systems, payment flows, identity infrastructure, fraud and risk models, and money movement, and partner with engineering leads to define effective delivery paths.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements

- Proven track record of defining and executing complex programs across multiple functions in consumer-facing or payments products.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to establish strong relationships with stakeholders and senior leaders.
- Proven ability to navigate ambiguity, bring rapid clarity to multi-stakeholder problems, and drive teams toward effective solutions.
- Working knowledge of API design and high-level system architecture sufficient to partner with engineering teams on program delivery.
Preferred Qualifications
