Details

Anthropic is seeking an Applied AI Architect to join the Beneficial Deployments, Life Sciences team. The role focuses on helping scientists get the most from Claude, particularly Claude Science, through enablement programs, workshops, hackathons, demonstrations, and community building.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the directly responsible individual for scientific enablement: determine what to run, build materials, deliver programs, and measure whether research teams reach daily use of Claude.
  • Lead programs that activate scientists at scale, including the Life Sciences Verification Program and Claude for Researchers.
  • Build demos, notebooks, and tutorials showing how frontier models can support scientific work.
  • Participate actively in online communities where scientists share tools, including X and LinkedIn.
  • Train Anthropic’s Applied AI and Customer Success teams and create playbooks they can use independently.
  • Build and lead a scientist community around Claude and serve as its ambassador through meetups, conferences, and ambassador programs.
  • Represent scientists inside Anthropic by translating their feedback into concrete product requests and following those requests through launch.
  • Partner with Marketing and Communications to ensure campaigns and content reach the scientific community.

Requirements

  • Deep hands-on expertise with AI tools for science, such as Claude Science, including their strengths and limitations.
  • Credibility and hands-on experience as a scientist in academic labs, biotechs, pharmaceutical companies, or research institutes.
  • Experience helping scientific teams adopt new tools through demonstrations, training, workshops, or hackathons.
  • Current knowledge of AI for science, including agentic analysis and AI co-scientists, with the ability to explain these concepts to working scientists.
  • Hands-on experience building with large language model APIs and prototyping working demos; production coding experience is not required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including talks, tutorials, and documentation for scientific audiences.
  • Experience taking programs or products from idea to measurable results and being accountable for outcomes.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous environments, clarifying uncertain problems, and working across multiple responsibilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Relevant field of study demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation and benefits.
  • Optional equity donation matching.
  • Generous vacation and parental leave.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • Office space for collaboration.
  • Anthropic sponsors visas and makes reasonable efforts to support visa applications, with assistance from an immigration lawyer.

Work Arrangement

Anthropic currently expects staff to work from one of its offices at least 25% of the time, although some roles may require more office time.
