Details

Anthropic is seeking an Applied AI Architect specializing in cybersecurity to help large organizations use Claude to secure the systems and software they build and operate. The role combines deep security expertise with technical customer-facing skills and involves guiding customers from early pilots to production security workloads.

The position works closely with Sales, Product, Research, Engineering, and security ecosystem partners, including independent software vendors, systems integrators, and managed security providers.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with account executives and account architects to understand customer security programs, identify meaningful security workloads for Claude, and develop technical plans and business cases.
  • Serve as the primary security-domain technical advisor for enterprise customers from discovery and evaluation through deployment.
  • Help customers move from one-time code scanning to sustained workloads, including application security in the software development lifecycle, continuous automated penetration testing, alert triage and investigation, and threat intelligence.
  • Build and maintain reference implementations, harnesses, and evaluation approaches for running security workloads with Claude.
  • Design and lead workshops and hands-on sessions using customers’ code and workflows.
  • Work with security industry partners on shared accounts and enable them to deliver Claude-powered security outcomes.
  • Deliver technical content for security engineers, application security teams, CISOs, and executives.
  • Define and track adoption of security workloads across customer accounts and collaborate with Product and Engineering on measurement telemetry.
  • Write reusable playbooks and best practices explaining how Claude complements customers’ existing security tooling.
  • Identify common patterns and feature gaps and provide feedback to Product and Engineering.
  • Develop reference customers who can discuss the value they receive.
  • Travel occasionally to customer sites for workshops, technical deep dives, and relationship building.
  • Maintain knowledge of developments in LLM capabilities, the security landscape, and vulnerabilities and attacks surfaced by frontier models.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in security roles, with hands-on depth in at least two of the following areas: application security and secure SDLC; offensive security and penetration testing; detection and response; or threat intelligence and vulnerability management.
  • Experience in technical customer-facing roles such as Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, security consultant, or Technical Account Manager, or experience on a security team requiring leadership investment.
  • Experience working with large enterprise customers, complex buying cycles, multiple stakeholders, and established vendors and partners.
  • Ability to explain the value and risk of security work to CISOs and executives and translate between security, engineering, and business teams.
  • Comfort with Python, CI/CD, and cloud environments, with direct experience integrating tooling into engineering workflows.
  • Familiarity with common LLM frameworks and tools and practical experience using LLMs for security work such as code review, vulnerability discovery, triage, or investigation.
  • Ability to collaborate across organizations, work through trade-offs, and balance competing priorities.
  • Interest in teaching, mentoring, and helping others succeed.
  • Passion for using technology safely and beneficially to advance safe AI systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building or operating security automation at scale, including scanning pipelines, triage systems, or detection engineering.
  • Experience serving customers in regulated industries, semiconductors, digital-native organizations, or public sector agencies.
  • Experience with security ISVs, systems integrators, or managed security providers.
  • Contributions to open-source security tooling, published research, or CVEs.

Logistics

  • Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Required field of study: A field relevant to the role, as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience.
  • Hybrid policy: Staff are expected to work from one of Anthropic’s offices at least 25% of the time, although some roles may require more office time.
  • Anthropic explicitly states that it sponsors visas, though sponsorship is evaluated for each role and candidate.

Benefits

Anthropic offers competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and office space for collaboration.
