As a member of Anthropic’s Applied AI team, you will work as a technical product engineer and trusted technical advisor to digital-native businesses adopting the Claude API into their core products. You will collaborate with customer product and engineering teams to ship products powered by Claude, advise on architecture decisions, develop evaluation frameworks, and guide customers through advanced implementation patterns for large language models.

The role involves working with Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to guide a focused portfolio of customers from technical discovery through successful deployment. You will combine engineering expertise with customer-facing skills to help customers unlock the potential of Claude APIs while maintaining high standards for safety and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a specialist technical advisor to customers deploying new products and workflows with Anthropic models, from discovery through deployment.
• Coordinate internally across multiple teams to drive customer success.
• Partner with account executives and solutions architects to translate customer business requirements into technical solutions.
• Influence technical architecture decisions and customer product strategy by developing customized pilots, prototypes, and evaluation suites.
• Lead hands-on technical workshops and code reviews with customer engineering teams.
• Identify common design patterns and contribute insights to Product and Engineering teams.
• Create scalable public and internal assets documenting the latest LLM prompting, evaluation, agentic, and architecture techniques.
• Maintain strong knowledge of developments in LLM capabilities, implementation patterns, and AI product development stacks.
• Travel occasionally to customer sites for workshops and implementation support.
• Attend conferences, lead speaking engagements, and write blog posts and white papers on AI topics.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in a technical role such as Forward Deployed Engineer, Software Engineer, or Technical Product Manager, with an interest in working closely with customers. Technical founders are also encouraged to apply.
• Production experience with LLMs, including advanced prompt engineering, agent development and frameworks, evaluation frameworks, transcript analysis, MCP, and deployment at scale.
• Strong programming skills with proficiency in Python or TypeScript and experience building production applications.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and execute across domains with intellectual openness, finding simple solutions to complex problems.
• A strong cooperation mindset for cross-organizational collaboration and balancing competing priorities with integrity.
• Passion for advancing safe, beneficial AI systems through creative technical applications.
• Exceptional communication skills for conveying technical concepts to diverse stakeholders with a collaborative, low-ego approach.
• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. The required field of study should be relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience.

Work Arrangement

• This role requires 3 days in the office per week.
• Anthropic currently expects all staff to work from one of its offices at least 25% of the time, although some roles may require more office time.
