Details

As a Support Specialist with the Bloomberg On-Site Support (BOS) team in New York, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and performance of Bloomberg’s technology infrastructure. You’ll support Bloomberg clients across the New York area, providing hands-on expertise ranging from desktop support to complex network troubleshooting, NODE site support, and IDF equipment management.

This is a highly visible, client-facing role that blends strong technical skills with exceptional service and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site support to Bloomberg clients from the New York City headquarters, partnering with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver seamless technical solutions.
  • Install and service critical servers, routers, appliances, computers, and IDF equipment.
  • Perform rack-and-stack activities for routers and switches, patching, and physical connectivity work.
  • Support order management and implementation processes in collaboration with clients and the Sales Department.
  • Provide client service, including license activation, software support, account management tasks, and issue resolution.
  • Support critical implementations, maintenance windows, and time-sensitive issues, including early morning, evening, or occasional off-hours work when required.
  • Partner with vendors and consultants to ensure efficient and timely service delivery.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all work using Bloomberg’s proprietary ticketing systems.
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously with strong attention to detail.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant technical support experience.
  • Proficiency with Linux-based platforms, including console access to routers for service or new installations.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows and Mac environments, covering software, hardware, and networking issues.
  • Solid understanding of LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, and subnetting.
  • Strong desktop support experience across Mac and PC environments.
  • Experience supporting Android and iOS mobile devices.
  • Hands-on experience setting up and supporting audio-visual equipment for meetings and presentations.
  • Experience supporting and maintaining network infrastructure, including routers, switches, servicing, patching, and IDF equipment.
  • Ability to manage orders end-to-end, from implementation through client delivery, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced, evolving environment and adjust working hours according to business and client needs.

Benefits

Salary: $70,000–$95,000 USD annually, plus benefits and bonus. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education or training, and skill level.
