Details

As a Support Specialist with the Bloomberg On-Site Support (BOS) team in New York, you will help ensure the reliability and performance of Bloomberg’s technology infrastructure. You will support Bloomberg clients across the New York area, providing hands-on expertise ranging from desktop support to complex network troubleshooting, NODE site support, and IDF equipment management.

This is a highly visible, client-facing role that combines strong technical skills with exceptional service and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site technical support to Bloomberg clients in partnership with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Install and service critical servers, routers, appliances, computers, and IDF equipment.
  • Perform rack-and-stack activities for routers and switches, including patching and physical connectivity.
  • Support implementations, maintenance windows, and time-sensitive issues, including early morning, evening, or occasional off-hours work.
  • Support order management and implementation processes from order through client delivery.
  • Work closely with clients and the Sales Department to ensure successful delivery.
  • Provide client service, including license activation, software support, and issue resolution.
  • Partner with vendors and consultants to ensure efficient and timely service delivery.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records using Bloomberg’s proprietary ticketing systems.
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant technical support experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows and Mac environments, including software, hardware, and networking issues.
  • Proficiency with Linux-based platforms, including console access to routers for service or new installations.
  • Solid understanding of LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, and subnetting.
  • Experience supporting desktop environments, mobile devices, Android, and iOS platforms.
  • Hands-on experience setting up and supporting audio-visual equipment for meetings and presentations.
  • Experience supporting and maintaining network infrastructure, including routers, switches, servicing, patching, and IDF equipment.
  • Ability to manage orders end-to-end, from implementation through client delivery.
  • Excellent customer service, adaptability, and communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to adjust working hours according to business and client needs.
