Details
NVIDIA's Compute Platform team drives innovation through license scheduling, helping engineering teams improve productivity and efficiency. This role focuses on transforming resource prioritization, optimizing compute budgets, and supporting project success in a highly contended EDA environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage license scheduling policies across the estate, including hierarchical project shares, shared and non-shared distribution policies, and preemption based on licenses rather than slots.
- Model license demand against entitlement so procurement can negotiate using evidence rather than historical peak usage.
- Tune allocation policies during tape-out crunch periods to ensure reliable execution when contention is highest.
- Build telemetry systems that make license utilization measurable, including feature-level checkout patterns, queue-time attribution, and waste reduction.
- Partner with CAD and project teams to translate business priorities into share configurations that perform reliably under load.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- At least 6 years of experience in EDA compute, HPC, or a comparable environment with contended licensed resources.
- Practical experience working directly with a commercial license manager, including troubleshooting checkout behavior.
- Working knowledge of a batch scheduler and understanding of how license state and job state interact.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL, with the ability to turn checkout logs into evidence-based recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience with a dedicated license scheduling layer, including hierarchical project share configuration.
- Experience managing license allocation during tape-out and understanding the associated complexities.
- Familiarity with the structure and pricing of commercial EDA licensing models.
- Experience influencing license procurement using utilization data.
Benefits
- Base salary of $184,000–$287,500 for Level 4 or $224,000–$356,500 for Level 5, depending on location, experience, and pay for similar positions.
- Equity and benefits.
- NVIDIA is an equal opportunity employer committed to an inclusive work environment.
