Developer/Community Advocate - AMER (Remote)

This role will be the bridge between the developer community, internal teams, and external partners, focusing on growing and supporting the AMER meetup community and broader developer and partner ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow ClickHouse’s AMER meetup network: coordinate events, speakers, logistics, and community engagement to deliver high-quality, consistent experiences.
• Serve as the primary connector for developer-focused initiatives across ClickHouse, collaborating closely with engineering, product, marketing, and sales, as well as external partners and customers.
• Act as a liaison between ClickHouse, its community, partners, and customers to identify opportunities, gather feedback, and drive adoption.
• Enable internal teams to create technical content, case studies, or demos by connecting them with subject matter experts and community insights.
• Track and report metrics that measure the success and impact of developer engagement, meetups, and advocacy programs.
• Represent ClickHouse at conferences, webinars, meetups, and other technical forums as a visible community advocate.
• Support engineers in online communities such as Discord, Twitter, Slack, and GitHub Discussions.

Requirements

• Strong technical background in data systems, analytics, distributed systems, or related domains.
• Experience engaging and enabling developer communities, including running meetups, events, or open source programs.
• Ability to coordinate across multiple teams (engineering, product, marketing, sales) and with external partners and customers.
• Excellent communication skills — able to translate complex technical topics for diverse audiences and foster community engagement.
• Strategic thinking, initiative, and the ability to drive programs that scale across multiple geographies and stakeholders.
• Comfortable being a visible, public advocate for ClickHouse and its community.
• Willingness and ability to travel 50%+ of the time; remote role requires living near a major airport.

Compensation

• Typical starting salary for this role in the United States: $150,000 - $190,000 USD.
• Typical starting salary in US Premium Markets (e.g., San Francisco Bay Area, New York City Metro): $170,000 - $210,000 USD.
