Details
We're looking for a Director of Product Management to own our security product strategy end to end, including the vision, roadmap, and build-versus-buy decisions. You will set the multi-year investment strategy for security offerings, work closely with engineering on database security, networking, and identity management, and serve as the subject-matter expert for other product managers navigating security-related decisions.
Responsibilities
- Own the product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for security offerings, and advocate for it internally with engineering and leadership and externally with customers and the market.
- Develop deep expertise in database security, networking, and identity and access management (IAM) to engage with engineering on technical details.
- Partner with engineering, design, sales, and marketing to ship products that are secure in practice.
- Translate complex security requirements into specifications and user stories for engineering.
- Own backlog prioritization and product trade-offs, balancing business value, customer risk, and engineering cost.
- Drive go-to-market activities for security launches, including positioning, sales enablement, and documentation.
- Monitor the performance of security features in real-world use and use data to guide future product decisions.
- Serve as the security subject-matter expert for other teams and provide guidance and coaching to product managers working on security-adjacent problems.
- Represent the company's security posture and roadmap externally with customers, prospects, and analysts.
Requirements
- 10+ years of product management experience in B2B SaaS, with significant and sustained focus on security products or features, including experience setting security strategy at an organizational level.
- Hands-on experience with database security principles and best practices.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts and their security implications.
- In-depth knowledge of identity and access management (IAM).
- Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ are preferred.
- Strong program management skills, including planning, execution, and risk management across multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Experience representing products externally with customers, analysts, or at industry events, and translating technical security topics for non-technical audiences.
- Experience guiding or informally mentoring other product managers.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with sound judgment about when to escalate and when to make decisions independently.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with shifting priorities.
Benefits
- Flexible, remote-friendly work environment at a globally distributed company operating in more than 25 countries.
- Employer healthcare contributions.
- Stock options for every new team member.
- Flexible time off in the United States and generous entitlement in other countries.
- USD 500 home office setup allowance for remote employees.
- Opportunities to connect with colleagues at company-wide global offsites.
