Details

Glean is building a Work AI platform that combines enterprise search, an AI Assistant, scalable AI agents, over 100 enterprise SaaS connectors, flexible LLM choice, and robust APIs. Its Enterprise Graph and Personal Knowledge Graph connect people, content, and activity to deliver personalized, context-aware responses and automate work across organizations.

Responsibilities

• Join as a founding member of Glean's Forward Deployed team, operating with founder-level autonomy and accountability.
• Work in a pod with Forward Deployed Product Managers, Glean engineering and product teams, and C-suite leaders at strategic customers.
• Discover and build new product surfaces through 0-to-1 product creation.
• Identify unsolved business problems, form product hypotheses, determine what is buildable, and ship solutions for testing and learning.
• Lead deep opportunity discovery before implementation by understanding business challenges, value concentrations, risks, and potential solutions.
• Serve as a technical partner to customer executives and explain technical approaches, expected outcomes, and risks.
• Scale successful solutions by working with the core R&D team to make products repeatable and scalable.
• Collaborate with Glean's engineering and product teams to shape the evolution of the platform.
• Travel 25–50% of the time.

Requirements

• A founder mindset, strong curiosity, resourcefulness, and the ability to work effectively in ambiguous environments.
• A track record of building production software from scratch and shipping products used by real people at scale.
• Production AI experience, including prompt engineering, agent development, evaluation frameworks, and deployment at scale.
• Strong full-stack programming skills and a deep understanding of enterprise systems.
• Business acumen and the ability to connect customer problem diagnosis to product hypotheses without being handed a brief.
• Strong customer instincts, clear communication, and the ability to tailor technical depth to the audience.
• Sound builder's judgment, including the ability to assess feasibility, estimate delivery time, simplify scope, identify problems early, and work independently.
• At least 4 years of experience in technical roles with a track record of shipping production software.
• Former technical founders are strongly encouraged to apply.

Nice to Have

• Experience as a founder, at a top-tier technology company, or in a forward deployed engineering role.
• A technical degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
• Deep familiarity with LLMs, retrieval systems, and evaluation frameworks.
• Experience driving technology adoption inside large enterprises.

Location

• Hybrid schedule requiring 3–4 days per week in Glean's New York City office.
• Requires 25–50% travel.

Compensation And Benefits

• Annual salary range of $160,000–$270,000.

Interview Process

Candidates complete a brief AI-focused exercise or discussion covering how they think about, design, and use AI to drive impact. Prior Glean experience is not required.
