NVIDIA is advancing AI, accelerated computing, robotics, and autonomous driving technology. As a Lead Safety Architect, you will help ensure the safety of autonomous vehicle technology at scale and integrate safety measures into NVIDIA's DRIVE products. You will collaborate with engineers and technologists to achieve and exceed high safety standards.

Responsibilities

Lead multifunctional initiatives to define safety architecture and requirements for autonomous vehicles.
Deliver safety concepts and analyses to enable continuous and safe software deliveries.
Define and improve safety metrics in collaboration with experts in perception, AI, motion planning, and safety architecture.
Improve processes and tools for safety analysis and data-driven evaluation.
Share safety analysis and readiness results with colleagues and management.

Requirements

Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Robotics, or equivalent experience.
12+ years of relevant industry experience.
A structured approach to systems and software development.
A proven record of successfully leading multifunctional efforts in architecture, development, or verification.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with ADAS, autonomous vehicle systems, machine learning, or robotics.
Knowledge and experience in data science and statistics.
Experience with verification and validation of safety-critical systems.
Knowledge of sensor technologies such as radar, lidar, and cameras.
Experience with system safety methodologies and practices, including FMEA, FTA, and STPA.
Knowledge of safety standards including ISO 26262, IEC 61508, UL 4600, ISO 21448, and ISO 8800.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range is USD 224,000–356,500 per year, determined based on location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The role also includes eligibility for equity and benefits.
