Details

As Manager of Startups Applied AI Architects at Anthropic, you will lead a team of technical architects helping startups build AI-native products with the Claude Developer Platform. You will establish the vision for technical partnerships in the startup segment, develop a high-performing team, support strategic early-stage accounts, and drive adoption of frontier AI.

Responsibilities

Lead, develop, and grow a team of Startups Applied AI Architects.
Set standards for technical credibility, customer impact, and startup-paced execution.
Establish goals, coach team members, and promote continuous technical development.
Lead pre-sales engagements with priority startup accounts from technical discovery through deployment and expansion.
Create technical playbooks for evaluations, customer-specific evaluation frameworks, LLM solution architecture, and competitive engagements.
Partner with Account Executives and go-to-market leadership to drive Claude API adoption across the startup ecosystem.
Surface insights about startup use cases, deployment patterns, and architectural decisions for Product and Engineering teams.
Influence Sales, Product, and Engineering roadmaps to address startup customer needs.
Build Anthropic's technical presence through events, conferences, workshops, and content.
Stay current with context engineering, evaluation frameworks, agentic architectures, and developer tooling.

Requirements

8+ years of experience in technical customer-facing roles such as Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, or similar.
5+ years leading and managing pre-sales or technical go-to-market teams.
Experience building and developing high-performing Solutions Architect teams.
Deep experience working with startups or high-growth technology companies.
Experience building and deploying LLM-powered applications.
Hands-on expertise with context engineering, LLM evaluation frameworks, and modern AI architectures.
Comfort with Python and fluency in LLM frameworks, tools, and integration patterns used in startup engineering stacks.
Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
A genuine passion for making powerful technology safe and societally beneficial.
A bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a relevant field.

Strong candidates may also have experience as a technical founder, competitive LLM evaluations, building team infrastructure from the ground up, developer infrastructure procurement from seed through Series B and beyond, or a visible technical presence in the startup or AI engineering community.
