Details
SpaceXAI is seeking a seasoned Senior Network Security Engineer to join its security team. The role focuses on network security technologies, switching and routing systems, and cloud-native and AI-focused infrastructure. The successful candidate will work independently on complex security issues while helping protect the company's technologies.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert in network security, particularly firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, BGP, OSPF, and switching technologies.
- Manage and update firewall configurations across the enterprise network.
- Deploy firewalls, switches, routers, and other network security devices.
- Develop network security solutions for routing and switching environments.
- Improve security processes through documentation and change management.
- Resolve complex network security issues and provide escalation support.
- Keep network security systems, switches, and routers updated with patches, firmware, and maintenance.
- Monitor and respond to security events in AWS, GCP, Azure, and datacenter environments, with an emphasis on network traffic analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of experience in network security engineering, with hands-on experience in switching and routing.
- Strong understanding of network security principles, TCP/IP, VLANs, ACLs, and secure routing and switching practices.
- Proficiency with at least one major cloud platform—AWS, GCP, or Azure—and its network security services, such as VPCs and Security Groups.
- Experience with Wireshark and tcpdump, and with network vendors including Cisco, Juniper, and Palo Alto Networks.
- Familiarity with Python or Bash for network security automation.
- Certifications such as CISA, CRISC, CGEIT, Security+, or CASP+ are preferred.
Preferred Skills And Experience
- Network-specific certifications such as CCNP Security, CCIE Security, JNCIP-SEC, or PCNSE.
- Experience with multi-cloud environments and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps practices for network security integration.
- Experience building custom tools or integrations to improve network security operations.
- Interest in using AI for network threat detection and automation.
- Contributions to open-source network security projects or related tools.
ITAR Requirements
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
