The Employee Productivity team is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to drive the evolution of AI-powered employee experiences across web and mobile, partnering with global teams to push the technical boundaries of what is possible.

Responsibilities

• Lead and code end-to-end features that power a seamless, AI-rich employee experience across web and native mobile applications.
• Architect highly performant services and user interfaces that surface personalized content, knowledge, and search results to a global workforce.
• Embed LLM and vector-search capabilities into existing product surfaces, driving relevance and continuous learning loops.
• Own system design reviews, code reviews, and technical roadmaps; raise the engineering bar and mentor engineers across the team.
• Integrate third-party HRIS, collaboration, and productivity platforms to create cohesive, automated user journeys.
• Champion modern front-end patterns, including React, Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind, as well as cloud-native back-end practices using Kubernetes, containers, and CI/CD.
• Instrument robust observability, tracing, structured logging, and SLA dashboards to help SRE teams achieve 24/7 reliability for employees in every region.
• Uphold security, privacy, and accessibility standards across all user journeys.

Requirements

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, another engineering discipline, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 15+ years of full-stack product engineering experience, including 3+ years at the principal or staff level guiding cross-functional teams.
• Proven track record delivering consumer-grade web and/or mobile experiences at scale.
• Expertise in search, recommendation, or applied AI systems.
• Hands-on experience with modern cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and automated CI/CD.
• Strong data modeling skills with relational and NoSQL stores.
• Fluency in application security.
• Excellent mentoring skills and the ability to set a vision while remaining hands-on.

Preferred Qualifications

• Shipped generative AI features, such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), copilots, or chatbots, to thousands of daily users.
• Contributions to open-source search or front-end frameworks.

Compensation and Benefits

• Base salary range: $248,000–$391,000 USD, determined based on location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
• Eligible for equity and benefits.
