Anthropic is seeking a Product Manager for the Research team to lead the ideation and deployment of new models and products advancing frontier, safe AI technology. The role partners closely with research teams to productize applied research, identify high-potential use cases grounded in customer needs, and connect advanced AI technologies to products that deliver real-world value.

The ideal candidate is an experienced founder or product manager who can bridge research and ambitious product experimentation and create and grow new product categories enabled by AI.

Responsibilities

• Lead the vision, strategy, roadmap, and execution of frontier technologies that leverage the latest AI capabilities to solve real-world problems.
• Partner with research teams to define, improve, and ship model capabilities within a research area.
• Identify nascent research that could become transformative products.
• Synthesize user insights into actionable requirements and evaluations.
• Understand the AI landscape and ecosystem, maintaining an objective view of market capabilities and Anthropic's position.
• Work with and influence stakeholders across research, product engineering, and platform engineering teams.

Requirements

• Deep passion and curiosity for AI and large language models (LLMs), with regular use of AI.
• First-principles thinking and the ability to navigate and execute in ambiguous environments.
• Ability to flex into different domains based on the business problem and find simple, easy-to-understand solutions.
• Deep technical background and strong understanding of AI and machine learning concepts.
• Willingness to engage deeply with technical solutions.
• Data-driven mindset with working proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Strong user empathy and ability to synthesize vague or contradictory feedback into actionable priorities.
• Track record of launching ambitious products that achieved distribution or commercial success.
• Intellectual curiosity without ego, with a willingness to ask questions and learn independently.
• Ability to think creatively about the risks and benefits of new technologies.
• Creative, hacker spirit and enthusiasm for solving puzzles.
• Preferred: 5+ years of product management experience, including launching new products and scaling existing ones. Founder experience is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Education or professional background in a field relevant to the role.

Compensation

• Annual salary: $305,000–$385,000 USD.

Logistics

• Anthropic expects staff to work from one of its offices at least 25% of the time, although some roles may require more office time.
• Anthropic sponsors visas, although sponsorship may not be available for every role or candidate.
• Anthropic provides immigration lawyer support for visa applications.
