Role Overview
Glean is seeking a strategic and execution-oriented Product Manager to define and build its Growth product area. The role focuses on product-led growth (PLG), platform-level activation, off-surface engagement, and broader product growth strategy.
You will own the experiences and growth loops that turn first-touch curiosity into durable, expanding usage, driving activation, retention, and organic expansion across users and teams. You will work with engineering, design, data, marketing, and go-to-market teams to identify high-leverage growth opportunities, translate them into measurable product experiences, and shape the product roadmap and product team.
The role is suited to someone with 5+ years of experience, a deep understanding of PLG and growth mechanics, a passion for AI, and strong product implementation skills, including designing user interfaces, onboarding flows, and experiments.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the Growth product strategy and roadmap across activation, retention, and expansion using funnel data, experimentation, and customer behavior.
- Own the PLG motion from acquisition and onboarding through activation, habit formation, and self-serve expansion.
- Design growth loops that turn individual adopters into team- and organization-wide usage.
- Build platform-level growth capabilities such as referrals, invitations, notifications, in-product education, and lifecycle messaging.
- Drive off-surface growth through the browser extension, email, Slack, Microsoft Teams, mobile, and other entry points.
- Partner with engineering, design, and data teams to scope products and experiments with clear user flows, interaction patterns, instrumentation, quality standards, and measurable outcomes.
- Establish an experimentation and measurement culture by defining activation and retention metrics, instrumenting the funnel, and running A/B tests.
- Prioritize customer-focused execution while balancing long-term platform opportunities, user pain points, strategic customer requests, and company priorities.
- Collaborate with go-to-market, marketing, solutions, and support teams to understand customer problems and product adoption.
- Specify concrete onboarding flows, UI behavior, and adoption paths.
Requirements
- 5+ years of product management experience.
- Experience owning and shipping growth, activation, or PLG product areas in B2B SaaS, consumer, AI, or platform products.
- Deep fluency in funnels, activation, retention, virality, and lifecycle mechanics.
- Analytical fluency to define metrics, instrument funnels, and interpret results with engineering and data teams.
- Strong product sense and granular product thinking, with the ability to move between strategy and detailed execution.
- Deep interest in AI and enterprise software.
- Ability to create clarity, momentum, and alignment in ambiguous and emerging product areas.
- Excellent communication, ownership, initiative, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- A learning and growth mindset, with a mission-first approach.
- Early adoption of AI tools and workflows and enthusiasm for helping customers accelerate AI adoption.
Location
- Hybrid schedule with 4 days per week in the San Francisco office.
Compensation And Benefits
- Standard base salary range of $175,000–$280,000 annually.
- Certain roles may be eligible for variable compensation, equity, and benefits.
- Medical, vision, and dental coverage.
- Generous time off.
- 401(k) plan.
- Home office improvement stipend.
