Role Overview

Groq is seeking a Senior AI Governance Analyst to run AI governance operations across Groq's inference products and the models it hosts. The role brings the EU AI Act, emerging AI regulations, and customer AI requirements into product, contract, and design reviews before launch so evidence is available for customers and auditors. The role owns operational readiness, while Legal remains responsible for legal determinations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain AI obligations in Groq's obligations library, including the EU AI Act, emerging AI laws, customer AI commitments, and model licence conditions. Map obligations to controls and owners and document an operational position for each requirement. Legal determinations, including Groq's role under each law, remain with Legal.
• Run AI governance reviews during the design stage for new models, features, sites, and contract terms, covering applicability, risk, required safeguards, and launch conditions. Record each decision.
• Maintain an inventory of models served by Groq, including provider, licence terms, intended use, data handling, and applicable controls.
• Own responses to customer AI questionnaires and the AI sections of security reviews. Build a reusable answer library with Legal and Product.
• Track the AI regulatory horizon, assess the operational impact of new requirements ahead of their effective dates, and report AI governance posture and open risks to security leadership monthly.
• Prepare the AI management system for ISO/IEC 42001 certification if approved by leadership.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in technology risk, compliance, or privacy, including at least 2 years of hands-on AI governance or responsible AI experience.
• Working knowledge of the EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, and ISO/IEC 42001, with experience translating them into controls, review checklists, and audit evidence.
• Experience running pre-launch AI risk or impact assessments with engineering and product teams, documenting decisions to a standard that withstands audits.
• Technical fluency in the machine learning lifecycle, including training, fine-tuning, evaluation, and inference serving, sufficient to engage credibly with engineers.
• Experience answering customer AI due diligence questions and partnering with Legal on contract terms, with the ability to identify which questions belong to Legal.
• Experience with GRC tooling is preferred.
• IAPP AIGP certification or equivalent is preferred.

Compensation

The total cash salary range is $154,300–$208,700 per year, inclusive of potential bonus value. Individual placement is determined by geographic location, experience, skills, and alignment with internal compensation standards. This range applies to candidates located in the United States. Compensation for international candidates varies based on local market conditions. Groq also offers a Long-Term Incentive Program and employee benefits.
